We haven't known exactly what to write about these past few weeks. I hope he doesn't mind, but I would like to steal the words that Matt Mooney (see 99 balloons) wrote on his son's 1st birthday last summer. Ever since he posted them, I thought about them, especially as our day approached.
"We fought to celebrate and feel we were able to do so.
When accurately remembered, there is so much to be thankful for. But heartache often manages to eclipse the whole. Theirein lies the battle. Attempting to pust aside the pain, relish the joy. That battle continues....
We encourage you today to not forget Luke. To not forget whatever his sweet life taught you. Please go & do that which has been stirred in you through his life. And we look forward to hearing of the ripples he has made in eternity."
We have both found a sense of closure, not that this chapter will ever be closed. We are looking forward to the future and trusting in the HOPE of Christ's ressurection and the eternity we will spend with our son.
